End of the Road

I was sentenced to prison after being found Guilty. I can not go to Prison. I want to see my family at least 1 more time. I think im going to try and make a run for it. I think i can make it if im lucky. If i dont post again then you will know i didnt make it.

The final Verdict

The grand Jury discussed there final verdict for about 2 hours. I was so nervous im pretty sure I was shaking out of my shoes. I was eventually taken back to the court room to hear the final decision. I went and stood by Atticus and waited. The Grand Juror rose and spoke the words I did not want to hear. They found me guilty as charged. When i heard these words i died inside. I couldnt believe i had lost and was going to jail.

I am called to the stands

I was called to the stands as a witness. Atticus started off asking me some questions. I was really nervous and im sure i started to sweat. I still answered them as honestly as i could. I told him everything i knew. I told him how i would help Mayella do some work when she needed it. I also told him what happened on August 21st. The day when Mayella tried kissing me and her father came screaming at her. I didnt know what happened next as I ran faster than i ever have before.

Atticus steps up his game

Atticus didnt appear ready when he showed up with little paperwork or any sort of evidence. This was all disproven when It was his turn to talk. His approach seemed questionable to some as most people didnt know what he was trying to prove, making Bob write his name on a piece of paper. Atticus showed Bob is a lefty and Mayella was beaten on her left side. My left Arm is totally useless, making it near impossible for me to beat Mayella's left side from the position she said i was standing at.

Trial starts off roughly

Entering the court room was nerve racking. Everyone stared at me with a look of pity upon there faces. Judge Taylor appeared intimidating. Sheriff Heck Tate was the first witness called to the stands. He explained everything he knew which didnt really help or hurt my case. All he knew was what BoB told him and what Mayella looked like when he arrived. The other lawyer had everyone in his favor the whole time he talked. He was very prepared .

On Trial

Last night the lynch mob showed up drunk and unhappy. The only thing standing in there way from killing me was Atticus. I am not sue how he did it but he got them to leave. I  think i heard kids talking. All I know is Atticus saved my life. Today My trial starts. I am nervous about it. I think as long as I tell the truth and the jury isnt prejudice, then i have a shot.

Trial soon

I have been moved to the Jail for my own safety as the trial is closer than ever. Lynch mobs threaten my safety throughout the night. Im scared to go to sleep, worrying that they will come. I trust Atticus to not let anyone get to me, but one man cant hold off a mob. If i do not pass the night i will be in court tomorrow proving my innocence.
